Conveyancing | Personal Injury and Civil Litigation | Wills, Probate, Trust & Tax Planning Wills, Probate, Trust and Tax Planning Discuss your personal circumstances with our experienced lawyer. We have a set fee for a straightforward Will of £ 100 plus VAT for a single person and would offer a discount if for example husband and wife are making similar Wills and we would do this for £150 plus VAT. If your Will is more complex we may charge a rate over and above the standard rate quoted above. THE COSTS OF NOT MAKING A WILL COULD FAR OUTWEIGH THE COST OF MAKING A WILL A Will is a legal document that contains your instructions for dealing with your personal matters. If you die without leaving a Will then your assets will pass in accordance with a set of rules laid down by law which may not be as you envisaged. For example: If you are unmarried but cohabiting with a partner then your partner will have no automatic right to inherit any assets held in your name Your cohabitee may not be entitled to anything and would have to make a claim through the Court which would bring unnecessary expense and strain at a time which would be stressful in any event. Example 2: If you are married but a Will is not in place your spouse may not get all your estate There are rules laid down by law and some of your Estate may be shared amongst relatives. Your spouse would be entitled to make a claim through the courts, but this will only add more strain and expense. Example 3: For couples who have children in a previous relationship making a Will is essential if you wish to ensure they are adequately provided for. If you are cohabiting you may wish to ensure your partner is adequately provided for and this can only be guaranteed by making proper provision in a Will. Contact us and we will discuss your requirements and provide advice in a free consultation. We can advise and can supply documentation in relation to wills, probate, trusts, applications to the Court of Protection, the administration of estates, enduring powers of attorney and inheritance planning matters generally.
